We review the electoral and boundary arrangements of councils to make sure they are fair. Our reviews include at least two rounds of public consultation before we make recommendations for change.

The Commission has been carefully considering the Government White Paper and the potential impact of future local government reorganisation on our programme of work. In light of this, we have decided to postpone the next stage of this electoral review.

We will confirm next steps as soon as we are in a position to do so. Any updates on the review will be published on this page.
