We decide how many councillors an authority should have.
Initial consultation
We ask local people and organisations to tell us about their communities.
The Commission has been carefully considering the implications of the Government’s English Devolution White Paper on its work programme. In light of this, it will consider the next set of recommendations for this area as planned. However, it is minded to pause the review after that stage and for the foreseeable future. Should there be a change to the status of the review, this page will be updated.
We review the electoral and boundary arrangements of councils to make sure they are fair. Our reviews include at least two rounds of public consultation before we make recommendations for change.
